Deputy Chief Minister & Education Minister of Telangana, Mr. Kadiyam Srihari met Union HRD Minister, Mr. Prakash Javadekar on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, and proposed the idea to set up an IIM in Hyderabad. The HRD assured Mr.Kadiyam Srihari to look into the proposal and come to a decision soon. Telangana already has premier institutes like IIT Hyderabad and IIIT Hyderabad.

India has 20 IIMs, the establishment of a new IIM will increase the number of management graduates in the country and also the number of enrollment for IIMs is always higher than the available seats, so the establishment of a new IIM will allow more students to get an education from a premier institute.

List of IIMs In India

A student can get admission in IIMs through Common Admission Test (CAT). Depending upon their test scores eligible students can apply at IIM, a student has to go through group discussion and various other tests at the institute to get admission to the particular IIM.
