Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a national level test being administered since 1988 for admission to MBA and allied programmes in the Business Schools (B-Schools) in India. Govt. of India, Ministry of HRD has approved MAT as a national level test in 2003.
MAT is conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA) every year in the month of February, May, September and December. More than 600 B-Schools across India is accepting the MAT score for the admission to its MBA/PGDM courses. The exam is conducting in both modes offline as well as online. Those aspirants who want to pursue MBA/PGDM they can apply for MAT as per their comfort.
Before applying for MAT 2020 applicants must check their eligibility for the examination. The eligibility criteria for MAT 2020 is given below:
Candidate should have completed their graduation in any discipline.
Appearing Final year students of Graduate Courses can also apply for the MAT 2020.
There is no age bar for applying in MAT.
There are no minimum marks required to apply bin MAT all candidates who completed their graduation can apply for MAT.
Exam Pattern
The Management Aptitude Test is conducted in two modes Paper Based Test (PBT) and Computer Based Test (CBT). The applicants can opt for both the tests i.e. PBT as well as CBT by paying an extra fee of Rs. 1100/- in addition to Rs. 1550/-.
Those candidates who opt for both PBT and CBT, they will get the benefit of selecting additional 2 Management Institutions for sending their scores in addition to the existing option of selecting 5 Management Institutions i.e. after opting for both PBT and CBT, they can select 7 Management Institutions in total.
The MAT Exam pattern consists of 5 sections named as Language Comprehension, Mathematical skills, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning, Indian and Global Environment. The exam will consist of 200 MCQ type questions and time duration for the test will be of 2 hrs 30 min. The detailed exam pattern is given below in tabular form:

The merit list and percentile will be prepared on the basis of 4 section. The score of Indian and Global Environment is not considered for calculating the merit and percentile for the scorecard.
Selection Procedure
After the registration in the MAT, the applicant's have to take part in the entrance exam. The exam will be conducted in two modes offline as well as online. The candidates can appear either in its paper pencil based mode (offline) or computer-based mode(online). The applicants can opt for both the tests i.e. PBT as well as CBT by paying an extra fee at the time of registration.
After qualifying the entrance exam, candidates will be shortlisted for the next round of Group Discussion(GD), Personal Interview(PI) and or Written Ability Test (WAT).
After conducting the GD, PI and WAT the composite scores will be calculated and final merit list will be announced and shortlisted candidates will be called for the counselling round.
Counselling Procedure
After the declaration of merit list of entrance exam, GD, PI and WAT composite score, the candidates will have to present at the allotted center as per the provided schedule.
Candidates should check their rank and counselling date because counselling date will be allotted on the basis of candidate's rank.
Candidates have to select their desired course and college in the counselling on the basis of their preferences, rank and the availability of seats they will get the seat in the college.
Those candidates, who will get a seat through MAT 2020 Counselling process, are required to confirm their allotted seat by depositing seat acceptance fee within the particular time period provided.
After submitting the acceptance fee for the seat allotment, candidates have to undergo the document verification at the allotted college. Candidates have to produce original documents for the document verification, the list of documents required for verification is given below.

MAT is one of the prestigious management entrance exams for getting the admission in MBA/PGDM courses. More than 600 B-Schools accepts the MAT score card for admission to its management programmes. So candidates have to be serious for the exam and prepare accordingly, there are some points given below that may help students:
Cover all the Topics which is given in the syllabus so that you will be able to overcome the difficulty level.
Focused more and more on your study and your basics must be cleared so that you will be able to solve the questions easily.
Do your preparation in your own way means to create your shortcut and tricks to understand the problems.
Practice more and more so that you will become habitual to solve the questions which help in brush up your concepts and you will be also understood Time Management.

Exam Syllabus
There is no prescribed syllabus provided by the exam conducting body for the MAT but candidates have to prepare all the sections to qualify for the exam. There are five sections in the MAT examination for which candidates have to prepare. The five sections name are as follow:
