National Institute of Technology Silchar invited the applications for admissions into Ph.D. programme in Engineering, Science and Department of Management Studies departments. Those candidates who are interested and want to apply for any of the offered programmes, they can apply on or before 18th January 2019.
Admissions for Ph.D. programmes are divided into two groups, Group A and Group B. The details of both the groups are given below:
GROUP A: Ph.D. Program - a Regular category in which candidates may receive a fellowship from the MHRD/ CSIR/UGC or any other recognized funding agency.
GROUP B: Ph.D. Program– candidates will not get any financial assistance or stipend by NIT Silchar will be provided for this GROUP.

How to Apply for Ph.D. at NIT Silchar
- Visit the official website of NIT Silchar.
- Go to the admissions section from the menu tab of NIT Silchar website.
- Download the offline form from the website.
- Fill the application form correctly and do the signature.
- Application form (scanned) complete in all respects must be emailed to an email address – [email protected] & [email protected] within 18th January 2019 by 5.00 p.m. Subject line should be “ Application for Ph.D. program- Name of the department -Group A / Group B”.

The filled in and signed Application Form must be accompanied with an Application Fee of Rs. 500/- (for General/OBC) OR Rs. 250/- (for SC/ST) in the form of crossed Demand Draft ( photocopy) in favour of Director, N.I.T. Silchar, payable at Silchar; otherwise, the application form will be treated as cancelled. A hard copy of the Application form complete in all respects should reach the office of Dean (Research and Consultancy), NIT Silchar, PIN- 788010 within 18th January 2019 by 5.00 p.m.
Note: The candidates are advised to provide their latest and valid contact nos./Email ids in the application form. The Institute reserves the right to reject any or all applications or it may amend any of the clauses as per orders of the competent authority/ Government of India.
