There are 11 undergraduate courses for which entrance exam is conducted by the University of Delhi for the admission to its some of the affiliated colleges. From this year, the National  Testing  Agency  (NTA) has been entrusted with the conduct of University of Delhi Entrance  Examination  2019  for Admissions to Entrance based Undergraduate and Postgraduate Courses.

Interestingly, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct entrance exams for more than 180 courses, which including undergraduate programs, of the Delhi University. The exam pattern for the exam is given below:

General Pattern of Entrance Tests

  1. The entrance exam will be of two hours duration and consist of multiple choice questions (MCQs) (four choices each) designed to evaluate the aptitude of the applicants through areas as relevant to each subject.
  2. There will be 100 questions. Each correct answer will get a score of plus 4 marks, each wrong answer will get a score of minus 1 mark and a question not answered will get a score of zero marks.
  3. For admission to Music courses, the entrance test will be of a practical nature.
  4. Selection/ Admission will be done according to the merit list prepared on the basis of the marks secured in the written entrance test (For Physical Education Sciences, there will also be a practical entrance test in addition.).

The lists of courses for which students have to appear an entrance exam will be conducted are:

  1. B.A. (Honours) Business Economics
  2. Bachelor of Management Studies
  3. Bachelor of Business Administration (Financial Investment Analysis)
  4. B.Tech. (Information Technology and Mathematical Innovations)
  5. B.A. (Honours) Humanities and Social Sciences
  6. Bachelors of Elementary Education
  7. Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, Health Education & Sports
  8. B.A. (Honours) Multimedia and Mass Communication
  9. Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Hindustani Music- Vocal/Instrumental (Sitar/Sarod/Guitar/Violin/Santoor)
  10. Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Karnatak Music- Vocal/Instrumental (Veena/ Violin)
  11. Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Percussion Music (Tabla/Pakhawaj)
  12. Five Year Integrated Programme in Journalism in Delhi School of Journalism

Apart from the above courses, the student can get admission for other courses on the merit-based. The first cut off list is expected to be released on 20th June 2019.
