Five institutions to be setup in the country especially for the minorities, says government

The current central government is trying to increase education level thus increasing the literacy rate of the country. In accordance with the same hon'ble union minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on 1st March 2017, Wednesday said the government will build five world-class institutions to provide better education in technical, medical, Ayurveda and Unani streams to students belonging to the minority communities especially.

The minister said revealed such intention while addressing a national seminar of Minority Community Teachers Association at the India Islamic Cultural Centre. He said that,

“A high-level committee working to chalk out a framework for these institutions will soon submit its report. We are working on a strategy to get these institutes -- to be set up across the country -- started in 2018. We propose 40% reservation for girl students,” the minister of state for minority affairs said.

  1. Naqvi said allocations for the Minority Affairs Ministry in the 2017-18 Union Budget has been increased to Rs 4,195.48 crore.
  2. Over 70% of this budgetary allocation will be utilized for educational empowerment of the minorities.
