Indian Institute of Information Technology, Kalyani (IIIT Kalyani) is one of the 20 Indian Institutes of Information Technology set up at Kalyani, Nadia District West Bengal. It was established in 2014 by Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of West Bengal and Industry Partners under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode. It is funded in the ratio of 50:35:15 respectively by the above three parties. The objective of establishing IIIT, Kalyani is to set up a model of education which can produce best-in-class human resources in Information Technology and harness the multidimensional facets of IT in various domains. The admission to IIIT is through Central Seat allocation Board (CSAB). The students get admission by CSAB based on their Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-Main) ranks.
Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), Shibpur has selected by the Government of West Bengal as the Mentor Institute for IIIT, Kalyani. IIEST is country's second oldest institution of engineering education and has a long and diverse history. It was formerly an institution under the State Government of West Bengal and known as Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur. The Institute has its own Department of Information Technology(IT) and offers 4 Year Undergraduate Programme(B.E.), 2 Year Postgraduate Program (M.E.) Programme and Ph. D Programmes. IIIT Kalyani offered B.Tech degree in Information Technology and Computer Science and Engineering.
