Nalanda University is all set launch courses on Vedic Studies, Mindfulness and Yoga

Nalanda University plans to introduce Vedic Studies and may also start short-term executive programmes on subjects like Mindfulness and Yoga.

Vice Chancellor Sunaina Singh has mentioned that Indian knowledge systems have to be explored, and vedic studeies are best best way to fulfill the objectives. All these courses shall be within the existing schools by creating new departments.

She also explicitily mentioned that university may also start some short-term executive programmes on subjects like Mindfulness and Yoga.

VC has also emphasized on the fact that university needs to build more schools and departments for academic excellence. The School of Linguistics and Literature and The School of International Relations and Peace Studies will be the next schools that we will focus on.

The university is located in the Buddhist pilgrim town of Rajgir in Bihar's Nalanda district. It began its first academic session in September 2014 on a makeshift campus.
