The national level engineering exam JEE Main and medical entrance examination NEET will be held twice a year from 2019 in online mode, announced by HRD minister Prakash Javadekar today i.e. 7th July 2018. According to the minister, Joint Entrance Examination Main and National Eligibility cum Entrance Examination will be held by the newly formed examination conducting agency, National Testing Agency (NTA).
“The syllabus, question format, language and fees won't change. Each exam will be conducted on four to five dates” said HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar.
Not only the NEET and JEE Mains, NTA will also conduct the GPAT, CMAT and UGC NET exams as well from now. JEE Main exams will be held in January and April, NEET will be held twice in February and May while UGC NET would be conducted in December. These exams will be held on multiple dates. Students can appear in both the exams and the best score will be considered for the admissions.
“These examinations will use highly secured IT software and encryption to ensure delivery of tests just in time. This will ensure no leakages and other malpractices,” a press release by the ministry said.

The examination will be conducted in online mode and NTA will establish a network of test practice centres for students of rural areas so that everyone will have an opportunity to practice before the exam. However, the details of such centres would be announced soon and student can use the facility free of charge.
