Array

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to discontinue seven elective subjects and 34 vocational subjects for students of classes 11 and 12 from 2017-18 because of fewer takers every year, i.e., 2017-18. In total of 41 subjects have been scrapped.

CBSE has scrapped the following academic electives: -

  • Human Rights and Gender Studies.
  • Library and Information Science.
  • Theatre Studies.
  • Graphic Design.

  • Philosophy.

CBSE has also scrapped 34 vocational subjects that include: -
