JEE Main and NEET 2020: One of the most burning issue among students is how will the exams be conducted amongst this coronavirus issue

,JEE Main exam will be conducted online from September 1 to September 6 at 605 centres for B.Tech./B.E. and 489 centres for B.Arch. and B.Planning, located in 224 cities throughout the country and 8 cities abroad while NEET will be conducted offline on September 13 across 161 exam centres.

Social media is filled with opinions from all quarters on whether to conduct and postpone the exams. Fillandfind.com will also its point of view later in the article.

The issue of JEE- NEET exam started when NTA- National Testing Agency released the notification to conduct the exam. Though people were opposing earlier as well but soon after the notification, it became a digital movement on Twitter, Facebook and other social media platforms saying that these exams should be postponed. They have their share of concern which need to be addressed.

A PIL was also filled in the supreme court of India and was heard by Hon'ble justice Arun Mishra. He dismissed the plea and during the oral observation said the following.

"Life cannot be stopped. We have to move ahead with all safeguards and all... Are students ready to waste one whole year? Education should be opened up. Covid may continue for a year more. Are you going to wait another year? Do you know what the loss to the country and peril to the students is?" Justice Arun Mishra said"

The court took on record assurance by the NTA that all necessary precautions will be taken in view of Covid-19 pandemic during hearing the plea. The government seems to be very clear on the issue as stated by Hon'ble Education minister while giving to National broadcaster saying that:

"A lot of parents had written to us asking when will NEET and JEE exams take place and how long can a child keep preparing for exams, which is why we decided to go ahead with exams after postponing them twice"

While NTA has also released statement amidst the ongoing controversy.

“The Supreme Court has ordered that there is absolutely no justification in the prayer made for postponement of the examination in question relating to NEET UG-2020 as well as JEE (Main) April, 2020,” the NTA said in a statement Tuesday.

“The NTA has, since then, released Admit Cards of JEE (Main) Examination. The Admit Cards of NEET (UG) 2020 will also be released shortly,” it added.

But there is a legitimate concern within parents and students which has not got due attention.

  • Their concerns lie into mental fatigue experienced by various students during the lockdown and migration from their preparation cities to hometown.
  • Secondly, what if the centre is not allotted in my nearest district due to a limited number of students in a city, which is a case.
  • Thirdly, the safety concern when travelling from one place to another.
  • Fourthly, the transportation services, by and large, are closed or very limited.

The safety of an accompanied guardian is also a point of concerns raised by many on social media.

We at fillandfind firmly believe that amidst this problem prevention, protection and safety of students are much more important but if Government is adamant to conduct the exam then it has to strictly ensure that all guidelines are followed and necessary preparations regarding transportation, eatery outside centers and other posts as above must be considered.

Stay healthy... Stay Safe... All the best.
