Array

In a surprise move, by IIEST, total 65 seats is scraped for admission in the next academic session, for various academic session. In the last academic session, intake of students were about 650 and now they shall have only 585 seats fro its future students.

Though the present government is trying to inculcate more students into higher education, this decision is very out of the box in anti-direction.

Though the decision is collectively taken by board of governors, its not the first time that such surprising decision is taken by the institute. While the institute was granted the status of IIESt in 2014, the government wanted that it must intake 735 students, increasing the students percentage by 14%.

Other Important Fact:

  • In 2012, the Central Government had sanctioned INR 592 crore period of five years for upgrading the institute infrastructure development like laboratories, libraries, classrooms, auditoriums, residential quarters and hostels, but uptil now only INR 120 crore is provided to the institute.
  • This reason is also very prime reason to slashed out the seats.
