Eligibility Criteria:

The course wise eligibility criteria are mentioned below:

• MS (Research)

1. Computer Science and Engineering:
   B.Tech/ B.E/ M.Sc/ MCA in Computer science or valid GATE score in CS & IT. OR B.Tech from IITs with CGPA more than 8.0 (SC/ST 7.5) is required to apply without valid GATE score.
2. Electrical Engineering:
   B.Tech/ B.E or equivalent degree in Electrical/ Electronics/ Communication/ Computer Science/ Physics or equivalent with a valid GATE score and a minimum of 60% marks (or 6.5 grade point out of 10) (55% marks for SC/ST). OR B.Tech from a related branch from IITs with a minimum CGPA of 8.0 (SC/ST 7.5) are eligible to apply without valid GATE score.

• M.Tech

      Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering:

1. B.Tech. from IITs with CGPA, more than 8.0 (SC/ST 7.5) are eligible to apply without valid GATE score.
2. For Non-IIT students, valid GATE score in the respective branch is required.

• Center for Biomedical Engineering

1. B. Tech/ BE in Biomedical Engineering with a minimum of 60 % marks (6.5 grade points on a scale of 10) and a valid GATE score is required. Relaxation for SC/ST candidates as per GOI rules.
2. A master's degree in science (MSc / MS), or equivalent, with a minimum of 60 percent marks (6.5 grade points on a scale of 10) and a valid GATE score is required. Relaxation for SC/ST candidates as per GOI rules.
3. A bachelor’s degree in medicine/surgery (MBBS), pharmaceutical sciences (BPharm), veterinary science (BVSc), or dental surgery (BDS), with a minimum of 60 percent marks (6.5 grade points on a scale of 10) and a valid GATE score is required. Relaxation for SC/ST candidates as per GOI rules.
4. B.Tech. from IITs with CGPA, more than 8.0 (SC/ST 7.5) are eligible to apply without valid GATE score.
5. Anyone among the above-mentioned criteria needs to be fulfilled by the candidate.

How to apply:

1. Create an account on the official website of IIT Ropar.
2. Log in to your account by using your User ID and Password and fill the application form.
3. Candidates will get the alert Email at their provided Email ID from the official.
4. The form should not be filled in the Private Browsing mode or Incognito mode.
5. After filling the form click on “Submit” Button, after submission acknowledgment mail will be sent to candidates registered Email ID.
6. Upload required documents on the portal. The name of the document, document which is to be uploaded, should be in the given format ( Unique Name[firstname_lastfivedigits_of_your_mobile_no.pdf]) to avoid uploading error.
