IIT Ropar gives record 82 percent placements to its students for batch 2013-2017

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Ropar, has performed tremendously well in their placement drive and upto 82% students grabbed offer letters. Since in IITs, there is a culture where only interested student st apply for campus placements which have a total of 95 students this time. A total of 42 companies participated in the campus placement of the institute.

Average Package at IIT Ropar has gone down Rs.50,000 and was recorded to be Rs.11.5 lakh yearly whereas last year the figure was Rs.12 lakh p.a.

A maximum number of offers at the institute were offered by automobile companies. Some of the popular companies that have offered jobs to the students of IIT-Ropar are

  1. Mahindra & Mahindra.
  2. SML Isuzu. 
  3. Tata Motors.
  4. Larsen and Turbo.
  5. Works Applications.
  6. Tonichi Insatsu.

Mr. Ravi Mohan Parsad, Head, Training and Placement, mentioned the fact that students have been more inclined to join companies like

  1. Infosys.
  2. Arista Networks. 
  3. Timetooth Technologies. 
  4. Amazon. 
  5. Vehant Technologies.
  6. Saavn.

Deloitte, DEShaw, Directl, Tesco, BookMyShow, Takshashila Consulting, Smartpix and Chegg India are some of the companies that that participated in IIT-Ropar placement drives for the first time.
