List of important documents required by candidates aspiring to crack GATE 2018

GATE 2018 application form requires a certain set of documents need to be uploaded at official website. For a complete list check the list below. There is a separate  requirement list for domestic and international candidate,

Documents/ Data required (Indian Candidates)

Below is the list of documents required by any Indian candidates for participating in GATE 2018

  1. Personal information (name, date of birth, your personal mobile number, parent’s name, parent’s mobile number, etc.)
  2. Address for Communication (including PIN code)
  3. Eligibility degree details
  4. College address, PIN code of college
  5. GATE paper, choice of GATE examination cities
  6. Scanned image of your photograph
  7. Scanned image of your signature
  8. Scanned image of your thumb impression
  9. Scanned copy in pdf format of Degree Certificate or mark sheet of previous semester/year (for final year candidates) / Provisional certificate (letter) from the Institute for final year students
  10. Scanned copy of Category/PwD Certificate (if applicable) in pdf format
  11. ID Proof : Only Passport/PAN Card/Voter ID/Aadhaar UID/College ID/Employee ID card
  12. Bank details for application fees.

 


 

Documents/ Data required (International Candidates)

Below is the list of documents required by any international candidates for participating in GATE 2018. GATE 2017 examination shall be held for international candidates in Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Nepal, Singapore, Sri Lanka and United Arab Emirates (U.A.E).

  1. Personal information (name, date of birth, your personal mobile number, parent’s name, parent’s mobile number, etc.)
  2. Address for Communication
  3. Eligibility degree details
  4. College address
  5. GATE paper, choice of GATE examination cities
  6. Scanned image of your photograph
  7. Scanned image of your signature
  8. Scanned image of your thumb impression
  9. Scanned copy of Degree Certificate or mark sheet of previous semester/year (for final year candidates) in pdf format
  10. ID Proof: Only Passport/Government issued ID/College ID/Employee ID card
  11. Bank details for application fees.


Candidates who belong to SC or ST or PwD category have to upload a valid documentary evidence for concession in fees. The certificate can only be accepted when issued by concerned authorities.


Authorities Empowered to Issue SC/ST Certificates

  1. District Magistrate/ Additional District Magistrate/ Collector/ Deputy
  2. Collector/ Deputy Commissioner/ Additional Deputy Commissioner/ 1st
  3. Class Stipendiary Magistrate/ City Magistrate/ Sub-Divisional Magistrate/
  4. Taluk Magistrate/ Executive Magistrate/ Extra Assistant Commissioner.
  5. Chief Presidency Magistrate/ Additional Chief Presidency Magistrate/ Presidency Magistrate
  6. Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tahsildar
  7. Sub-Divisional Officer of the area where the Candidate and/or her/his family normally resides
  8. Administrator/ Secretary to Administrator/ Development Officer (Lakshadweep Islands)

Certificate issued by authorized officials only shall be valid, and necessary actions shall be initiated for any wrong doing and misinformation.

Authorities Empowered to issue PwD (Person with Disabilities) Certificates

In order to avail concession under the PwD category, the candidates should attach a recently obtained proper PwD certificate issued by the competent authority. The same shall be required to be submitted to the admitting institution at the time of admission. The onus of verifying PwD certificate lies with the admitting institute. The GATE committee will not be responsible for any incorrect declaration of the PwD status of candidates.
