A word of caution for all stakeholders and aspirants who are planning to suggest or opt for admission in any institutes in the country. These institutions don’t have the authority to grant degrees. Education certificates issued by such colleges are not at all worthy and shall give you no legal grounds to be called Graduate or postgraduate etc. UGC says there are 279 fake technical colleges and 23 fake universities in India. UGC and AICTE put out a list of fake institutes, warning students ahead of the new academic session that kicks in next month. Hon'ble Minister Mahendra Nath Pandey told RS the state governments had been asked to investigate and register police complaints against fake universities. No institution shall offer Technical program or course without approval of the Council.

When an institution said fake or unapproved?

An institution is said fake or unapproved by UGC or AICTE when:

1. It has started without approval by the Council or commission.

2. It is working in temporary location / at a location not approved by the Council.

3. It is declared as “Unapproved” by the Council.
