Application portal for admission to the BS-MS dual degree programme to all IISERs for the academic year 2018 is starts. Those aspirants who want to pursue 5-year BS-MS Degree Programme they can apply online through three channels named as Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY), Joint Entrance Examination of Indian Institutes of Technology (JEE) and State and Central Boards Channel.

About the BS-MS Programme

BS-MS is a five-year degree program for 10+2 level passed bright and motivated science students. The first two years of the program consist of core courses in basic sciences, in the third and fourth years students are dedicated to specialization in chosen science subjects and in the fifth year include a research project. Those candidates who want admission to BS-MS dual degree in Engineering Sciences stream of IISER Bhopal, for them Mathematics at 10+2 level as a mandatory subject.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates will be admitted to IISER only through three channels which are given below:

  1. Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) channel.
  2. Joint Entrance Examination of Indian Institutes of Technology (JEE) channel.
  3. State and Central Boards Channel (SCB) channel.

KVPY Channel:

  • Candidates having a valid KVPY fellowship commencing from the 2018-19 academic session are eligible to apply for admissions. Additional cut-off criteria may be applicable.

JEE Channel:

  • Candidates in General category should have to secure a rank within 10000 in the Common Rank List (CRL) of JEE Advanced 2018.
  • For candidates belonging to reserved category (OBCNC, SC, ST, PD), their category rank should be within 10000.

SCB Channel:

  • Students who have passed (10+2) level with science stream in 2017 or 2018 with marks equal to or above the cut-off percentage in their respective boards ().
  • For the candidates belonging to the Non-Creamy Layer of the Other Backward Classes (OBCNC) and Persons with Disability (PD) categories, there is a 5% relaxation.
  • The cut-off percentage for the Scheduled Castes (SC), the Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Kashmiri Migrants (KM) candidates is 55% in (10+2) level for all boards.
  • Students applying through SCB channel will have to appear in the IISER Aptitude Test which will be conducted at various centres across the country.
  • To calculate your percentage of marks obtained, use the percentage calculation method adopted by your board.

Important Instructions

  1. Applicants should have a valid email ID which would be verified.
  2. Applicants should have scanned passport size photograph in PNG/JPG/BMP format and should not be larger than 2MB in size.
  3. Applicants should have their scanned mark-sheet in which your subject-wise marks are clearly visible in PNG/JPG/BMP format and should not be larger than 2MB in size.
  4. The payment of the online application form will be made through online mode only (credit/debit cards, net banking, UPI).
  5. The application form involves six or seven steps depending on which channel you chose. In each step, you need to furnish data to validate your candidature.
  6. If you get an offer of admission, some of those data would be verified against appropriate documents.
  7. If you opt to apply through SCB channel then you need to enter your subject-wise marks (name of the subject, marks obtained out of maximum marks). If your board takes into account XI and XII performance for the calculation of percentage, then you need to add the total marks (addition of XI and XII entries) for that subject.
  8. On completion of every step, the data you enter is saved and you may log out and come back later to complete the form.
  9. For SCB channel, the Admit Card would be available on the My Application(s) page (which you get after you log in).
  10. If you are offered admission in one of the IISERs, your offer letter would also be available on the same page.
