SBI has released the notification for the recruitment of Probationary Officer (PO). Those candidates who are interested to opt their career in banking sector then they have a golden opportunity to start his/her career in SBI as a Probationary Officer (PO) and they can apply online on or before 13th May 2018 from the official website of SBI.
This year SBI has made some changes in its recruitment process. Sectional timing has been introduced in the Preliminary Exam. There are three stages in the recruitment process of SBI PO i.e. Preliminary Exam, Main Exam and Group Exercises and Interview. The Preliminary Exam will be only qualifying in nature it means that the marks of the preliminary exam will not be considered for the final merit listing. The marks obtained in the main exam, group exercises and interview will only be considered for the final merit listing. The marks obtained by the candidate in the main exam will be converted out of 75 and the marks obtained in the group exercise and interview will be converted out of 25. So the final merit list will be out of 100.

Eligibility Criteria for SBI PO:
Age:
Candidates age should not be below 21 years and should not be above 30 years as on 01/04/2018.
Educational Qualification:
- Candidate should have a degree in any discipline from a recognized University.
- Freshers can apply as no work experience is required.
- Final year/Semester appearing candidates may also apply subject to the condition that if they are called for the interview they have to produce the proof of passing the graduation exam on or before 31/08/2018.

Exam Pattern of SBI PO:
The SBI PO examination conducted in two parts in the first one candidates have to appear for Prelims Exam which consists objective questions and it is an only qualifying phase and will not be considered for the final merit listing, the second one will be the Main Exam which consisting Objective Test and Descriptive Test and marks in this exam will be considered in the final merit list. The detailed exam pattern is given below:
Prelims Exam Pattern :
The Prelims Exam consists of three sections i.e. English Language, Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude. The Exam consists of total 0f 100 questions of 100 marks. English Language section consists of 30 questions and Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude 35 questions each. There will be negative marking of 0.25% of the marks assigned to a particular question it means that if a candidate has given a wrong answer of a question, one-fourth of the marks assigned to that particular question will be deducted to arrive at corrected score. There will be the duration of 20 minutes for each section it means that 20 minutes are given to the English language, 20 minutes are given to Quantitative Aptitude and 20 minutes are given to Reasoning. The total duration of the Preliminary Exam will be one hour. A preliminary exam is only qualifying in nature i.e. the marks of the preliminary exam will not be considered for the final merit listing. Main Exam Pattern:
The Main Exam is the second phase of the recruitment process, in Main Exam there will be an objective test of 200 marks and descriptive test of 50 marks. The Main Exam consists of 4 sections namely Reasoning and Computer Aptitude, General/Economy/ Banking Awareness, English Language and Data Analysis & Interpretation. There will be negative marking of 0.25% of the marks assigned to a particular question. The marks obtained in the Main exam will be considered for shortlisting for the Group Exercise & Interview and for the final merit listing. Each section is separately timed i.e. each section is allotted separate timing. Candidates cannot switch between the sections during the examination. The total maximum marks of the Objective Test of the Main Exam will be 200. The main exam pattern in detail is given below in tabular form:

Descriptive Test :
The Descriptive Test will consist of two questions of English Language (Essay and Letter Writing) of 50 marks. The duration of the descriptive test will be 30 minutes. The descriptive test will be held immediately after the completion of the objective test.
Group Exercises & Interview :
This is the third phase of the selection process. After qualifying the second phase of the selection process the candidate is called for the Group Exercises & Interview round which is the final round of the selection process. Group Exercises will consist of 20 marks and the Interview will consist of 30 marks.
Final Merit List:
The combined final score of candidates shall be arrived at on the basis of the Scores obtained in the Main Exam and the Group Exercises & Interview. The marks obtained by the candidate in the Main Exam(Objective + Descriptive) (out of 250) will be converted to out of 75 and the marks obtained by the candidate in the Group Exercises & Interview (out of 50) will be converted out of 25. The final merit list will be prepared by adding the converted marks of the main exam and group exercises & interview. So the final merit list will be prepared out of 100.

- Before registration, the candidate should ensure that he/she hs a valid email ID which should be active till the result of the recruitment process because for further communication only this email id will be used which will be used during the registration process.
- Upload all the scanned documents (photo and signature) in the prescribed manner mentioned in the official notification.
- After filling up the application form make the online payment through Credit Card/Debit Card/ internet banking.
- The process of Registration is complete only when the fee is deposited with the Bank through Online mode on or before the last date for payment of the fee otherwise the application form will be rejected automatically.
- After payment successfully take a printout of the Application form on the A4 page.
