The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (abbreviated as WBNUJS or commonly known as NUJS) is an autonomous law university established in Salt Lake City of Kolkata, West Bengal, India. NUJS was established in 1999 under the WBNUJS Act, 1999 (West Bengal Act IX of 1999) adopted by the West Bengal Legislature. NUJS is considered one of the best amongst the elite national law schools in India built on the five-year law degree model proposed and implemented by the Bar Council of India.
NUJS offers a five-year undergraduate integrated B.A./BSc. LLB (Hons.) degree programme and a postgraduate Master of Laws (LLM) programme. Apart from these undergraduate and postgraduate courses NUJS also offers MPhil, Ph.D. and diploma in business laws.
