Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur (abbreviated VNIT Nagpur), was formerly known as NIT Nagpur, also known as Regional College of Engineering, Nagpur (REC) and Visvesvaraya Regional College of Engineering, Nagpur (VRCE), is a premier public engineering and research institution in India. The institute has been consistently ranked among the best 15 engineering colleges in India.
VNIT Nagpur was established in June 1960 by the Government of India and later named in honor of engineer, planner and statesman, Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. VNIT Nagpur is spread over an area of approx. 250 Acres and situated at South Ambazari Road, Nagpur, Maharashtra.
