S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research (abbreviated as SPJIMR) is a leading school of management and constituent business school of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan located in the heart of India’s financial center of Mumbai. The institute is established in 1981 by the then British Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher, as a part of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and now functioning as an autonomous Institute with entrepreneurial agility.
The institute was initially financed by Sahu Shreyans Prasad Jain and later its named as Sahu Shreyans Prasad Jain of the Sahu Jain family. After the financing from the Sahu Jain family stopped, the institute disaffiliated itself from Bombay University to provide itself with more freedom in curriculum decision-making and pedagogy design.
Currently, SPJIMR offers Post Graduate Diploma in Management, Post Graduate Programme in Management, Global Management Programme, Executive Management Programme, Family Managed Business programme and several short term programmes like Start Your Business programme (SYB), Grow Your Business programme (GYB) and Strategic Media & Entertainment Management (PSMEM) conducted in partnership with the Times Centre for Learning Ltd. (TCLL).
