The National Institute of Technology, Nagaland commonly refferred as NIT, Nagaland or NITN was established in the year 2010 under the NIT Act of 2007 by the government of India. It is one of the 31 NITs of India. The motto of NIT, Nagaland is "EDUCATION IS POWER". Like some of the other NITs of its time NIT,Nagaland has NIT,Silchar (ASSAM) as its mentor. The initial two years were carried out in the campus of NIT, Silchar and then NIT, Nagaland has shifted to its home state in September 2012. NIT, Nagaland provides undergraduate(B.Tech),postgraduate(M.Tech),Integrated M.Sc. courses and Ph.D to its scholars.NIT,Nagaland provides separate hostels for boys & girls. NITN also has a huge central library with more than 72,000 books in different areas. The central library also consists of 1400+ E-books. One of the most important features of NITN is its DATA CENTER.NITN is building the campus network & data center to enhance the computing facility of the institute.EKARIKTHIN is the techno-cultural fest organized by the NIT, Nagaland every year which is the biggest techno-cultural fest ever in the history of Nagaland.
