National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra is situated in the Haryana state is a premier Technical Institute of that region. The institute started working as Regional Engineering College, Kurukshetra in 1963. Just like other Regional Engineering Colleges (RECs) of India this institution too, had been a joint enterprise of the State and Central Governments. It's also the institute of national importance. This Institute was given the status of Deemed University on June 26, 2002. NIT Kurukshetra has been ranked as the 32nd Best Engineering College of the country.
The institute has its mission as to produce quality manpower that is equipped with human and social values which are required to provide integration of technical skill, social character, leadership, self-confidence, creativity and renovation that are required for benefit of mankind and sustainable development of India both. The facilities available within the campus are such as Center for Computing and Networking, Library, Central workshop (with machine shop, Fitting, welding, foundry and casting), SBI bank, post office and health centre, 12 hostels, Optical Fiber connectivity throughout the campus. The institute also foresees some of its cultural and technical festivals every year too and one of them is Techspardha (formerly Literati) which is the annual Techno-Managerial festival of this institute. Initially, it was established in the year 1995 as Technospect with 9 events.
