National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, abbreviated as NIT Hamirpur or NITH is a public engineering college located in Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, India. It is one of the 31 National Institutes of Technology (NITs) which was established, administered and funded by Indian Government. NIT Hamirpur offers a comprehensive curriculum for Undergraduate, Postgraduate and doctorate studies in various fields of Engineering, Sciences and Humanities. The institute came into existence in 1986 on 7 August as Regional Engineering College, Hamirpur. On 26 June 2002, REC Hamirpur was awarded the status of deemed university and upgraded itself to national institute of technology. The institute is ranked as the 30th best Engineering College of India. Also it has been Ranked 11th amongst all 31 NITs. The institute has its vision as to build a vibrant, multicultural environment founded on value based academics principles, everyone involved shall contribute effectively, efficiently and responsibly to the nation and global community equally. The institute campus spawns across 320 Acres and is located on a hilly terrain which is surrounded by pine trees from all sides. Nimbus is the annual technical festival of NIT Hamirpur. Another fest named Hill'ffair is a cultural event of the institute, organized at the national level involving well known bands, singers, musicians, artist, poets from all across the country. The motto of the institute is "उद्यमेन हि सिद्धयान्ति कार्याणि न मनोरथैः॥" that means "There is no substitute for hard work ".
