National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) was set up in 1986 under the aegis of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. NIFT currently has 16 campuses in which NIFT Bhubaneswar is one of them and it was started functioning in 2010 in its transit campus situated in IDCO Plot No. 24, Chandaka Industrial Estate, Patia Bhubaneswar, Orissa. NIFT was set up by the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, in technical collaboration with FIT, New York.
Currently, NIFT Bhubaneswar offers the four-year undergraduate programme in Bachelor of design (in three disciplines) and Bachelor of Fashion Technology in Apparel Production, as well as a two-year post-graduate programme in the Management (Master of Fashion Management).
Vision: To emerge as a centre of excellence and innovation proactively catalyzing growth of fashion business through leadership in professional education with concern for social and human values.

There is a common placement schedule for all the setup NIFT at the selected venues of NIFT, companies were registered for campus placements offering for job vacancies across various programs/campuses and students registered for placements during campus placements at these placement venues. Recently, NIFT Campus Placements 2016 was held at 07 Campuses of NIFT viz. New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chennai, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad. It was started from 22nd April 2016 to 4th May 2016. A total of 401 companies were registered for campus placements offering 2011 job vacancies across various programs/campuses in which total of 1709 students registered for placements during campus placements at these placement venues, of which 1470 students got placed.
