National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR), commonly known as Nalsar University of Law, is a legal studies institution established in 1998 by a Statute of the State of Andhra Pradesh. NALSAR was the second National Law University to be instituted in India after the NLSIU Bangalore.
NALSAR is one of the top law schools in the country due to its great academic records by students admitted from all over the country and faculty are drawn from home and abroad. Chief Justice of the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad is the Chancellor of the University and Prof. Faizan Mustafa is serving as a vice chancellor.
NALSAR is the first university among the Indian National Law Universities to offers a two-year M.B.A. program for the first time from the academic year 2013-2014. Apart from MBA and Law programme NALSAR also offers a postgraduate degree in Philosophy (M.Phil.) and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree programme.
