Maitreyi College is a constituent college of the University of Delhi in the South Campus, located in Bapu Dham, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi, India. Maitreyi College was established in July 1967 by Delhi Administration and named after the Vedic sage Maitreyi. The objective of the institute is “to weave these values into the fabric of our education system which is a blend of the best of tradition and modernity”.
At the beginning of the Maitreyi college, its offered only B.A. (Pass) and B.Sc. (General) courses with a staff of 17 teachers at Netaji Nagar but now the campus is spread over 10 Acres in Chanakya Puri and having the faculty of 113 teachers and 78 members for administrative support. It offers undergraduate degree programs with Honours in Science, Commerce and Humanities and Postgraduate Courses in Mathematics and Political Science. Besides this, the College also offers non-credit add-on certificate courses in Journalism and Web designing.
