Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (abbreviated as IGDTUW) is women’s technical university located in Kashmere Gate, Delhi. It was established in 1998 as an “Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology” by Directorate of Training and Technical Education, Govt of N.C.T of Delhi as the first engineering college for women only. That time Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology was the only constituent college of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU).
In May 2013, IGDTUW has been upgraded from Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology through Delhi State Legislature Act 9, 2012 and became the first women's technical university in India. IGDTUW offers undergraduate B.Tech programme in four different fields named as CSE, ECE, MAE and IT, B.Arch, postgraduate programme, M.Tech, in Information Security Management, Mobile & Pervasive Computing, Robotics and Automation and VLSI Design and MCA.
Vision: To make India a Knowledge Society and Knowledge Economy by empowering the women of our country through education in Engineering, Science, Management and Technology. To become one of the top technical Universities in the country known for its value based, quality technical education supported with industry relevant research, with focus on environmental and social issues.
