Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati (Abbreviated as IIT Tirupati) is an autonomous engineering and technology institute and first among the 3rd phase of IITs, announced in 2014. It started functioning from August 5 from its transit campus at Krishna Theja Educational Institutions in Chadalawada Nagar on the outskirts of the temple city and its permanent campus is well underway to set up about 530 acres campus and will be coming in 2 to 3 years located at Merlapaka Village, Yerpedu Mandal, Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh.
Currently, IIT Tirupati is offering Undergraduate degree Bachelor of Technology (in four disciplines), two postgraduate degrees Master’s in technology and Master’s in Science and Doctoral program(Ph.D.). IIT Madras is assigned as the mentoring institute for IIT Tirupati and Dr. Bhaskar Ramamurthi as a mentor director. As the first batch is yet to be passed out so there is no placement takes place in the IIT Tirupati.
