Indian Institute of Technology Bhilai (Abbreviated as IIT Bhilai) is a public autonomous engineering and technology institute located in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, India. It is one of the six new IITs established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India in 2015-2016. IIT Bhilai started functioning in 2016 from its transit campus at the campus of Government Engineering College (GEC) Raipur. Well-furnished and fully renovated four storied Block-B of GEC building has been provided to start IIT Bhilai.
Currently, IIT Bhilai is mentored by IIT Hyderabad and offering an Undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in the disciplines of Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering. The Chhattisgarh Government has allotted 457 acres of land around Kutelabata for the new IIT campus. As the first batch is yet to be passed out so there is no placement takes place in the IIT Bhilai.
