Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (commonly known as IIM Bangalore) is a public business school established in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. IIM Bangalore was established in 1973, and it was after IIM Calcutta (IIMC) and IIM Ahmedabad (IIMA) was the third IIM to be established. IIM Bangalore has always been a hub of innovative activity and is always on the lookout for opportunities to collaborate with the industry as well as other academic institutions the world over. IIM Bangalore is consistently ranked as one of the best business schools in India and the Asia Pacific region.
The motto of the institute is derived from Sanskrit “तेजस्वि नावधीतमस्तु” which is an extract from the Shanti Mantra recited in Taittiriya Upanishad, Katha Upanishad, Mandukya Upanishad and Shvetashvatara Upanishad. The translation of motto is “May our study be vigorous and effective”.
