Atal Bihari Vajpayee Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior which is also known as the Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior or ABV-IIITM is a public university located in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, India. The institute is committed to taking academics to the zenith of brilliance and efficiency. ABV-IIITM was established back in 1997 and was named after Atal Bihari Vajpayee. IN 2001,the institute obtained the status of Deemed University and it was also recognized as an Institute of National Importance. The campus of the institute is spread over 160 acres and is situated in the foothills of the Gwalior Fort.
In 2016, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, ranked Atal Bihari Vajpayee Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior on 22nd rank in the Management (B-School) category of National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) rankings.
The motto of the institute is ”विश्वजीवानामृतम ज्ञानम्” (In Sanskrit) which means “Knowledge is an elixir for the world”. The institute initially operated from a temporary site which was located in Madhav Institute of Technology and Science Gwalior (MITS) ,which then moved to the permanent campus located on National Highway 92 (NH-92)Agra Gwalior Road,near Char Shahar ka Naka. ABV-IIITM comprises of residential campus for both faculty and students , several departmental blocks with academic block houses, seminar halls, an open amphitheatre, indoor sports complex, lecture theatres, laboratories, library, administrative block, faculty offices, and the student hostels. There are three hostels in the campus for boys and one hostel for girls. Including those with medicinal properties, the campus also has a variety of plants.
