Gujarat National Law University (abbreviated as GNLU) is a statutory National Law University established in 2004 under the Gujarat National Law University Act, 200. The statute provides that the Chief Justice of India or a Senior Supreme Court Judge serve as the Visitor of the university.
The Director, Bimal N. Patel serves as the chief administrator. GNLU is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI), International Association of Law Schools (IALS), Asian Law Institute (ASLI) and Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute.
GNLU offers five years undergraduate BA/BCom/BBA/BSc/BSW with LL.B. (Hons.) programme and postgraduate degree programs in LLM and MBA in Financial Management and Business Laws. The university also offers Ph.D. Programme and online courses. The motto of the university is “Aa No Bhadraha, Kratavo Yantu Vishwatah” that’s meaning in English is “Let the noble thoughts come from all directions”.
