Amity University is a private Research University. It’s a multipurpose university, the Amity University has been established by University Grants Commission (UGC) through the Act of State Legislature. The University was founded in 2003. It was formed by Ashok Chauhan who is the founder of the Ritnand Balved Education Foundation and also the president of the university. The school was started in 2003 with an enrollment of 120 students. In 2011, it had 80,000 Students opted 240 Programs.
It now has more than 125,000 Students from all over the world. Atul Chauhan is President of Ritnand Balved Education Foundation and Chancellor of Amity University. Aseem Chauhan is the Additional President of the Foundation. It was ranked in India's Top 30 universities. Amity University, Greater Noida has its campus located at Knowledge Park III, Greater Noida. Its sister universities are situated in Noida, Gurgram, Gwalior, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Raipur and Ranchi.
