Exam Pattern of CAT 2017
Common Admission Test or CAT is a computer based test of 180 minutes duration carrying 100 multiple choice objective type questions from three sections. There are Three sections in CAT 2017 exam :
- Quantitative Ability (QA)
- Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DA & LR)
- Verbal & Reading Comprehension (VRC)
- Total Number of Questions in CAT 2017 exam paper is 100
- Quantitative Ability (QA) – 34
- Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DA & LR) – 32
- Verbal and Reading Comprehension (VRC) – 34
- Sectional Duration i.e. time allotted for each section is 1 hour .
- Calculator Usage is restricted to On Screen basic calculator which will be provided with examination software.
- Time allotted for CAT 2017 is 180 minutes
- Question Types in CAT 2017 Exam Paper are of two types:
- Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
- Non-MCQs,
- Marking Scheme for CAT 2017 Exam is:
- For Non-MCQs,
- +3 marks for ‘correct answer’
- No marks (or negative marks) for ‘wrong or no attempt’.
- The scoring scheme for multiple-choice questions (MCQ's) is:
- +3 for each correct answer
- -1 for each incorrect answer
- No marks are given or deducted for un-attempted questions.
- For Non-MCQs,
