The National Institute of Technology, Sikkim is one of the fastest growing NIT in India. It was established in the year 2010 under the ammunition of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. It is also called the Premier Technical Institute due to the unbelievable growth rate in the recent years. The motto of NIT, Sikkim is "चरैवेति" which means "KEEP MOVING" and this institute is clearly following its motto. Currently, it is being functioned from a non-permanent campus at Ravangla sub-division of south Sikkim since its permanent campus is being under construction in Pakyong, Sikkim. NIT, Sikkim provides Undergraduate (B.Tech), Postgraduation (M.tech) and Ph.D Programmes for its scholars.One of the greatest achievement of this institute is that it is the only supercomputer unveiled among all the 31 NITs of India. "PARAM Kanchenjunga" is being used by the faculty members of NIT Sikkim. "Abhiyantran" is the tech-fest and "Udgam" is the cultural fest organised by the institute every year. The placement record is really rising up from 26.56% in 2014 to 96.92% in 2016 for NIT Sikkim.
