UGC Is All Set To Present Career Oriented Courses In Indian Institutions

Globalization of education and economy has led the University Grants Commission (UGC) to reorient and reshape its policies and programs to make the current Indian Higher Education System more relevant and  career-oriented with a focus on quality and excellence.

Demand and scope for such professionally trained graduates are visible in the applied fields of almost all basic/core disciplines and faculties in the current changing global scenario and is likely to increase in the future.

Yesterday i.e. 20th March 2017, Minister of State (HRD), Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey informed Lok Sabha that the NITI ayog had supported Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati to evaluate the UGC Career Oriented Courses on the employability of the students in South India.

  1. Universities and colleges have to prepare the syllabi of these courses by considering the specific industry requirements and academic needs.
  2. UGC also has plans to develop three other schemes that include Deen Dayal Upadhyaya KAUSHAL Kendras, B.Voc Degree Programmes, and Community Colleges.
