Engineering Students Need More Focus On Building Enterprises And Running Statrups Says AICTE Chairman

Anil Sahasrabunde, Chairman of All India Council for Technical Education or AICTE, while addressing the crowd present at a  college event of  Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology indicated that engineering must turn into budding entrepreneurs by focusing more on creating enterprises and startups at college level itself.

He took the example of silicon valley where most of the successfully companies tody were once the startups at very level. He urged students to build the same culture here in India. He indirectly stated that if not garage startups, engineers in India today must build its counterpart as hostel startups. He cited the example of Google and Microsoft and their journey of success.

He expressed that AICTE wants to challenge the quality of education that is being imparted across the world and it is only possible with the support of technical institutions within the country. He very promptly took the issue of lack of industrial skills within technocrats and gave it weight by quoting various industrialist who has said expressed their concerns at various platform revealing that technical college graduates lack required industrial skills.

He concluded that it is the prior responsibility of AICTE and technical institutes across the country to ensure that 100% students are placed or instead of seeking jobs, they must be encouraged and promoted to establish their startups and a suitable environment must be given to these students.
