Common Engineering Entrance Exam Likely From 2019

In the Gujarat Technological University’s Seventh Convocation in Gandhinagar the vice-chairman of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Dr. M.P. Poonia, was invited and he has hinted that there would be one entrance test for admissions to all engineering colleges in the country during the academic year 2019 and it will be implemented on the lines of National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET).

"The examination will be conducted by a separate body which might be set up by the government," the Vice-chairman said.

However, AICTE had approved the proposal and is waiting for the final go-ahead from the government. As per the report, there will be a new teacher training policy will be declared on January 24.

"It will be a challenge as different state examination boards have different syllabuses," the Vice-chairman said.

Vice-chairman said the AICTE has designed a six-month module where a new enrolled teacher for the technical professional courses will have to undergo a six-month training before going in for classroom teaching.

"However, we will definitely take action if we find any institute doing injustice to the students," the Vice-chairman said.

All the states have ready for the single entrance test for engineering, except Tamil Nadu and West Bengal. The AICTE does not have the intention to decrease the number of seats as colleges already have their infrastructure ready. The basic agenda is to make admission procedure more transparent, cheaper and affordable for a student from spheres of society. At present, many states conduct their own engineering examination or admissions are done on the basis of Class 12 marks.

Interestingly, FillandFind.com has also launched a unique portal helping students connect with the university by filling our admission form only once and apply to multiple colleges with your jee or any other applicable score. For more information Click Here to register with facebook.
