B.Ed Will Be A 4 Years Programme From Next Year, Check Here
From next year, the government is going to introduce a four-year integrated Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) programme with an aim to improve the quality of teaching. Earlier, the government had said that the 2-year B.Ed. might soon be dropped in favour of a 4-year integrated teacher training programme. “The plans to develop the programme have been on for a year since Arun Jaitley had already made announcements to this effect for an integrated B.Ed. programme in his Budget 2018 speech on February 1, 2018” said by an official. "We are going to launch a four-year integrated course from next year. The standard of teaching has gone down because it tends to be last option for those who join. This should be first choice. This should be a professional choice, not some leftover," said by HRD minister Prakash Javadekar. On Thursday i.e. 7th February 2019, the HRD minister Prakash Javadekar had tweeted that Teaching should become a profession of choice but not a profession of left-over that is why we are introducing 4-year integrated B.Ed course in the coming acedemic year. The concerned universities or institutions conducting this programme will have to adapt or modify the model curriculum, as per local requirement for the conduct of this programme with prior approval of the NCTE.
