The Common Admission Test or CAT is conducted by IIMs or Indian Institutes of Management for admission to 20 IIMs and 100+ top B-schools ofIndia. IIM Lucknow is conducting CAT 2017. In the year 2016, CAT was conducted in 136 cities and this number is expected to increase this year upto 150.
- The states with one exam centers are Andaman and Nicobar Islands, ArunachalPradesh, Meghalaya, Puducherry, Chandigarh, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir.
- The states with two centers are Chhattisgarh, Goa, Uttarakhand.
- The states with three centers are Assam, Jharkhand, Telangana.
- The states with four and five centers are Bihar and Madhya Pradesh.
- The states with 6 centers are Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Odisha.
- The states with 7 centers are Kerala, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu.
- Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Karnataka are states with highest center number i.e. 12, 13, 14 respectively.
Important Information:
- During CAT 2017 application filling form procedure, candidates are given choice to select as many as four cities from the drop down menu.
- CAT system mostly allots an exam center in the city of first preference. In case that is not possible, the system allots a nearby city.
- IIMs recommends candidates to register at the earliest in order to get their CAT 2017 exam center allotted to their preferred city.
