CBSE students soon no need to study  C++ or Java programmes and now they will get an opportunity to learn Python, a short and easy programming language from next academic session. There is not only changes will be in programming language besides this, a new educational language named ‘Scratch’ has been developed by Massachusetts Institute of Technology(MIT) and will also be introduced in the revised curriculum from next session.

“The new curriculum would focus in basic foundational skills and socially relevant projects ,” said Sarangi.

“Class XI and XII students will get to know about latest technologies including 3G, 4G and cloud computing and web technology and multimedia will be removed from the syllabus,” Sarangi also added.

As we know the Central government has initiated Digital India scheme, to support this initiative an attempt has been taken by the committee in which they added topics related to effects of digital technology, cyber safety, cyber etiquette and responsible use of social media in the textbooks of class 11th and 12th from the next session.

Apart from the programming language, cyber security and web technology, CBSE had also included GST in the syllabus so that students who take up Informatics Practices course in his/her Class 11th and 12th to impart their advanced skills through projects related to EMI calculation and financial prediction, accounting for small businesses and creating GST invoices.

However, the Central government has given one year of time for schools to adapt to this new curriculum and schools can adopt the old curriculum for this session. Others can take it up from forthcoming year itself.
