In third straight year MHRD has released the NIRF Rankings for top 100 Universities in India and like last two years Indian Institute of Science Bangalore once again tops the list. As per the data available on UGC till 31st March 2019, there are total 907 universities in India in which there are 48 Central Universities, 399 State Universities, 126 Deemed to be Universities and 334 Private Universities.
