NEET 2017: Now Only 3 Attempts Allowed Within 25 Years Of Age

Medical candidates who are planning and preparing to appear for the medical entrance exam - National Eligibility cum Entrance Test 2017 are now allowed to make only three attempts. It is mandatory for the candidates to fulfill the new age criteria as well.

Its a well thought plan as it willrestrict any counsellor or agent to be mediator and harass studnets who get into the web of these admission mafias. Now studnets which were putting hard work but were unsuccesfully shall be forced by this decision to try their hands in other interest which shall give than better life rathher than spending their time, money, dedication and precious hard work on a very highly competitive entrance exam.

According to zeenews report, it was during a UGC meeting in Delhi when it was decided that the interested candidates must fulfil a new age criterion if they wish to appear in the medical and dental exam. The minimum age to appear for NEET is 17 years, however, the maximum age for open category students is 25 years. For the reserved category it is 30 years.

Till now, there was never an age limit or attempts limit for candidates to take NEET. "This is a good decision," Dr Pravin Shingare, director at the Maharashtra directorate of medical education and research (DMER), was quoted as saying by the Times of India.

 

About NEET:

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or NEET is the country’s sole medical entrance examination, through which all medical colleges, run by the central and state governments, as well as private institutions and minority institutions, will admit students.

Other recents changes in NEET-UG

  • The NEET-UG will be conducted in six additional languages from the commencing academic session 2017-18, a statement released by the Union Health Ministry
  • The six languages in which the exams will be conducted are Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Assamese, Telugu and Tamil, apart from conventional English, Hindi.
