The registration for All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), was from 12th February 2018 to 5th March 2018. The aspirants who were able to successfully register themselves can appear in the examination which will be held on May 26, 2018, and on May 27, 2018. This year, it will be the first time, the examination will be conducted on two days in four shifts. Earlier the examination was conducted on a single day in two shifts.

From this year, the admission to two newly established AIIMS will also be done through AIIMS. The two newly established AIIMS institutes are AIIMS Guntur and AIIMS Nagpur. A total of 9 AIIMS institute are in India.

Students who are willing to pursue MBBS have to apply for NEET only, but AIIMS and JIPMER Puducherry are the only two institutes which are permitted to conduct their own MBBS entrance examinations. 

25 New Medical Colleges To Open In The Country

As from this year, the number of AIIMS institutes have increased, the number of seats offered has also increased. Till last year, in seven AIIMS institutes, the number of seats offered was 707. After the two new AIIMS institutes have come into action the number of seats offered at AIIMS have increased to 807. Each of the new AIIMS has 50 seats to offer. The AIIMS institutes in India are located at New Delhi, Patna, Bhopal, Jodhpur, Bhubaneswar, Rishikesh, Raipur, Guntur and Nagpur.

The AIIMS is likely to dispatch the admit cards from 10th May 2018 till 26th May 2018, in online mode. The results will be declared from 18th June 2018 to 30th June 2018.
