Undergraduate programs in England

This degree is also called a Baccalaureate or a Bachelor’s degree. For your kind information let us make it clear to you that any people often think of undergraduate degrees as bachelor’s degrees; in many cases, that is true. But, there are actually six types of undergraduate degrees that you can earn in England.

Usually it takes 3 years to complete a bachelor’s program in England but sometimes it may even take 4 years. Another type of degree offered by England is Higher National Diploma (HND) which is actually a two year certification plan with three year option. But to get into third year, you need to have a good academic score in your previous two years.

The one other type of degree offered by England is ‘Diplomas and Certificates of Higher Education’. This is exactly similar to 2 years bachelor’s course because they both can take you to the third year. Usually Diplomas of Higher Education (DipHE) is meant for the field of social work or medicine (such as nursing) whereas Certificates of Higher Education (CertHE) are meant to let you gain confidence to perform at the university level or to help you switch to other careers or to enable you to progress in your current career.

Last but not the least is the Master’s degree. Though many universities consider it as a post graduate degree but England has added it in their curriculum as an under graduate degree plan. Students who have a plan to go for a post graduate plan soon after their first degree plan can take up the advantage of this type of scheme because they can directly go for a master’s degree soon after pursuing their first degree at the cost of their undergraduate plan only.

Post graduate plans in England

There are various post graduate plans available in England such as: Master’s degree :

It is offered both at under-graduation level as card as post-graduation level. At under-graduation, it takes a sum of 4 years to complete it while at post-graduation level, it takes a complete year to pursue a master’s degree. But if you are taking research as your post graduate course then it may take from 18 months to 2 years. Courses which you can avail in England as your post-graduation plans are:

Depending on the university or business school which you have opted, you can go for the plan.

Doctorate Degrees (PhD, DPhil, EdD):

England is the cream center for the degrees like doctorate which is considered to be the highest in any field. You can end up working as an employee in academics or/and a researcher too unless you are not a doctor or pursuing law. It takes 3 years to complete a doctorate’s degree in England though it varies from place to place such as in US it may take up to 7 years to complete your doctorate.
