JEE Mains Registration Reduced by 50989

The number of students applying for JEE Mains reduced this year by 50989 as compared to last year. CBSE has been facing the reduction in the number of applicants form past many years. The reason for such a decline is stated as the difficulty level of competition and also the increasing interest of students in other fields such as law, management etc.

CBSE received around 11,48,000 applications, by January 1, 2018, which was the last date for JEE registration. This figure is 50,989 less than the previous year, in which the number of registrations was 11,98,989. 

CBSE has been facing the decline in the number of applicants for JEE from the year 2014. The number of students who registered for the year 2014 was 13,56,000 and the students who enrolled for JEE 2015 was 13,04,217. Since then, there has been a decline in the number of applicants every year. For the year 2016, the number of registrations was 12,07,257, for the year 2017 the number of registrations was 11,98,989.

JEE 2018 will be conducted on April 8, 2018, in offline mode and the online mode will be conducted on April 15, 2018, and April 16, 2018.
