IIT Gandhinagar has released the applications form to get admissions into M.Tech programmes and Postgraduate Diploma (PGDIIT) in Biological Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Earth System Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science & Engineering for the year 2018-2019.
Those aspirants who want to pursue there postgraduate degree they can apply on before 10th April but they must check all the eligibility criteria (given below) before apply online. The cost of application form is Rs. 200/- for General/OBC category and Rs. 100/- for SC/ST/Reserved category.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Candidate must have scored minimum of 55% marks or 5.5 CGPA (on a 10 point scale) in B.E. /B.Tech/M.Sc. or equivalent in appropriate branches and 50% or 5.0 CGPA marks for SC /ST.
- Those candidates who have a valid GATE score (at the time of interview/written test) they are eligible to apply for M.Tech.
- GATE score card is not required for application to M.Tech. on a part-time basis or for the PGDIIT programme.
- Those candidates who had completed their B.Tech degree from the IITs with CGPA/CPI of 8.0 or above (on scale of 10) would be eligible to admission without having to appear in GATE.
- Those candidates who are applying for the regular M.Tech. programme and they are sponsored by their employers, do not require GATE score and can be considered as sponsored candidates provided (a) candidate has been in service for more than 2 years (b) employer grants 2 years of study leave and (c) employer undertakes to financially support the candidate for the entire duration of 2 years.
The eligibility criteria above mentioned is the minimum required and the disciplines may use higher cut-off levels for shortlisting. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PD categories would be eligible for relaxations, as per norms, in the selection criteria.

Selection Procedure for Admission
- M.Tech admission is generally offered on the basis of a written test and interview.
- The conducted written test will be based on the topics related to general aptitude (logical reasoning, analytical and numerical ability, etc.), engineering mathematics, and basic courses in various disciplines up to 3rd year of undergraduate programme.
- GATE 2018 score of the candidates and their academic performance will be also a criteria for the candidate's selection.
- After being shortlisted in the written test, candidates will have to appear in the written test and interview.
