The admissions to Joint M.Tech/ MCP-PhD programs (JMP 2018) at IIT Kharagpur for the year 2018-2019 is open now. The aspirants can apply for courses in online mode only. The date for online application is open from March 21, 2018 to April 18, 2018.
All the GATE qualified candidates, who will apply for JMP 2018 should also register themselves for Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP). On successful completion of registration, a candidate will be able to get information on their offers made by participating institutes in the slot which will be announced on the COAP-2018 portal. A candidate must enter their COAP-2018 registration number into the account of JMP-2018 application portal using JMP login and password.

Eligibility criteria:
- Candidates should have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ M.Sc or equivalent professional degrees (AMIE etc.) and a valid GATE score
- Candidates who qualified NET with fellowship having M.A or M.Sc Degree in Economics, Sociology, or Geography and studied mathematics/statistics at the higher secondary level or at the graduate level are eligible for selection to MCP/Ph.D Programme
- For institutes which award a degree based on marks secured in all years of graduation:
- For GE/OBC, minimum of 60% marks or CGPA of 6.5 out of 10
- For SC/ST/PwD, minimum of 55% marks or CGPA of 6 out of 10
- For institutes which offers degree based on marks scored in the final 2 semester or final year-
- For GE/OBC, minimum of 60% marks or CGPA of 6.5 out of 10
- For SC/ST/PwD, minimum of 55% marks or CGPA of 6 out of 10
- B.Tech students graduating from any of the IITs in 2018 or graduated in 2017 with CGPA 8.0 or above may be admitted to the Post-Graduate programme without GATE score.
How to Apply
- Do your registration at the official website by providing appropriate and valid details like Email ID and Mobile No.
Note: The data entered during the registration cannot be changed later. - After successful registration, login to your account by using your Email ID and Password and start filling your application form and provide your personal details in the form. After filling up the personal details candidate will get the option to fill choice of specializations (a maximum of 6). Applicant should fill the remaining data and click SAVE to go to Academic Details Page.
- After filling up your personal details and choice of specialization you have to upload your scanned documents, photograph and signature. During the application, the candidate has to upload the following documents.
- Candidates passport size photo.
- Candidates signature.
- Qualifying degree certificate and mark sheet/grade sheet (for candidates who passed out the qualifying degree). For candidates who are in final semester/year may have to submit their recent completed semester/year mark sheet.
- Category certificate (for OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD candidates).
- Certificate showing proof of having mathematics at +2 level or degree level (wherever applicable)
- After filling up the application form successfully, make payment of the application form which only can be paid in online mode through the online payment gateway.
Note: Application fee is Non-Refundable - After the form is submitted, a candidate can take a printout of their form. All their information will be mentioned in the form. The form is just for keeping a record, it should not be mailed to the institute.
