The National Institute of Technology, Arunachal Pradesh is one of the 31 NITs across India established in the year 2010.The motto of NIT, Arunachal Pradesh is "न हि ज्ञानेन सदृशं पवित्रमिह विद्यते" meaning "certainly there is no purifier in this world like knowledge". NIT, Arunachal Pradesh has been ranked 19th among the 31 NITs across India. From 2010 to November 2011 NIT, Arunachal Pradesh was monitored by NIT, Durgapur. Thus, NIT, Durgapur played the role of mentor for NIT, Arunachal Pradesh. NIT, Arunachal offers undergraduate courses to its scholar and also a Ph.D program under Computer Science and Technology from session 2012-2013.
The admissions are taken through JEE MAINS conducted by CBSE every year. Other than academics NIT, Arunachal also focuses on a Technical & Cultural Event in the college. "ATULYAM" is its cultural fest while "ADDOVEDI" is its inter-college Technical fest. NIT, Arunachal also runs a social activity called "ROSHNI" for deprived people of society. Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) has also published the first ever magazine of NIT, Arunachal Pradesh.
