Indraprastha College for Women (also known as Indraprastha College or IP College) is a constituent college of the University of Delhi. IP College is the oldest women’s college established in 1924 and founded as a part of a nation-wide campaign for women's education and empowerment.
Indraprastha College has two hostels “Indraprastha College Girls Hostel” and “Kalavati Gupta Hostel (KG)”, to accommodate 500 students, Indraprastha College Girls Hostel has 196 seats and the KG Hostel has 304 seats. Currently, IP colleges offer Undergraduate degree in Arts, Commerce and Science disciplines and Postgraduate degree in Arts and Science stream. The motto of the College is “Truth, Love, Knowledge, Service”.
Vision: The Vision of the College is to educate, enable and empower young women, emphasizing the need to mainstream the marginalized and weaker sections among them to ensure justice and equity in society.
Mission: The Mission is to steer the education it offers not only to lead to the pragmatic goal of employability but also to build a life of the mind and sensitize and orient its students to the service of the community, in the quest for a better life for society and the world that we inhabit.
